Rush Of Fools
Wonder Of The World

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 13 tracks: 40 minutes, 51 seconds
Street Date: September 16, 2008

After a successful debut, Midas Records's Rush Of Fools is back with their eagerly anticipated sophomore project, Wonder Of The World. The band already has several radio hits to their name, including the breakout single, "Undo," as well as "We All" and "Can't Get Away." Like the debut, Wonder of The World has plenty of radio-friendly tracks. However, as radio-ready as they seem, it's not at all new or groundbreaking, and instead is merely "cookie-cutter" AC pop. The album does have a few catchy songs, like the title track, "There Is Nothing," and the concert-ready anthem "Lose It All," but that's about it. "You Are Glory" could have easily been done by Chris Tomlin, while "Tonight" and "Never Far Away" sound very similar to something you'd hear from MercyMe. The vocals don't help at all, either, which end up sounding like a variety of other Christian bands.

The songwriting is likewise very predictable and clichéd, relying heavily on tired worship phrases, such as "You lift me up, Holy One/ When I but come, you're enough/ You fill me up with Your love, with Your love/ To You I run, Holy One" ("Holy One") or "You offer good when I've none in me/ You're the only love that makes me complete" ("Tonight").

All in all, the album is full of stuff you've heard before. Rush Of Fools is sure to garner some radio hits with this album, but for anyone looking for something fresh or unique, this album is definitely not it.
