I'm a little new to the independent scene. But from what I know about it, the indie scene is swarming with talented and not-so-talented artists alike who are trying to make it in the music business. Sometimes when you put your nets out into the sea of artists you get a bad catch, sometimes a good one...
Cade is a solid project that is, like the official bio describes, "highly melodic, sometimes edgy." Jody and Joanna's vocals remind me of a bit of Rachel Rachel meets Point of Grace-- without the foursome power pop (a breath of fresh air in this case).
Album highlights include the pop-fueled rock tunes, "Past the Walls" & "If It Weren't for You," the opening pop/rock track "Drowning," and the sometimes edgier "Haven't I Seen You." These girls know just when to turn things up and slow things down. Definitely keep an eye on these gals.- Review date: 3/8/00 by John DiBiase
