This sketch was my first portrait of 2002 and broke an almost year-long drought from drawing. I had done
other drawings that we just basically doodles and such since then, but this was the first real detail-oriented
sketch in a long time. Jim Caviezel is an awesome actor and an awesome man of Faith in Christ. He starred in
one of my favorite movies of all time, Frequency, which is where I began admiring his talent, and which
is also what inspired this picture (taken directly from a screen shot from the film, with a few liberties
made -- also, try imagining a ham radio microphone in front of him :) ). The drawing took about 4 to 5 hours straight
one morning from about 12:30am through 5:30am April 25th, 2002. I made some minor changes the following evening
(still the 25th) and was amazed it was complete. God totally helped me out here. There's no way I could have
done that with almost a year of doing next to nothing... Hope you guys like it.
