Lyrics:
Hit us up if were comin' to your spot to play We rock shows from Connecticut to Monterey So CCCC Cali, we gonna get at the rest Best believe we take it to the great Northwest Independently minded no longer switchin' the blame, We still rollin' state to state liftin' up Christʼs name, I'm B-E-N-J-I-M-A-N But give all glory to God so I won't say it again Chorus This is our spot, but we got shows to play He said “Go Do!” We roll it like night and day These are my people, steady ready to drop So put it down and get up because it don't stop Globe treckin' mic checkin' wreck a microphone Rappin' 541 straight outta Lacomb Not in back of the pack, we front and center attack Blazin' heat in these streets spittinʼ fire on track Since '92 I been through this, time, time and again What to do already drew that line and it's thin We keep it hot. I know you thought it wasn't over but still No way you knew the way we do like nobody else will Hip-hop and rock, it don't stop, we just meet in the middle Over the stop, check it drop, blow your spot just a little When were done it just begun take a look over your shoulder Step back and let the Holy Spirit take this party over I'm not street I'm not hood I roll the countryside straight up out the woods
Benjiman, Casey Mesurvey
Behind the Song: "Our spot was birthed out of trying to find our hotel one night. It was after a great show
on the "Time to Rise Tour" of '06, and we were having trouble finding our Travelodge
that would be our home that evening. After cruising up and down the street for a half
hour, I saw it and yelled, “That's our spot right there!" After getting settled at "our spot," I
got to thinking about that statement and started writing a hook that moment. I took that
situation and compared it to when we travel from town to town. For one night, in one city
somewhere in the world, that place is "our spot" to share the love and grace of Christ to
people who may have never heard it before. The song was then made from top to
bottom by Casey Mesurvey (my future guitar player) and I at Caseyʼs studio in Albany
Oregon. The demo of that song turned out to be the very first track on the 2006
Joshuafest “Up at Nite Records” compilation. Of any song on the record this one is the
closest to the demo version." - Benjiman
