SCC (Nashville, Tenn.) April 18, 2008 – On Sunday the Music City Walk of Fame will add to its ranks as the fourth class of inductees, which includes Steven Curtis Chapman and Kirk Whalum, will be recognized with the unveiling of their commemorative sidewalk markers.

Chapman and Whalum, along with fellow inductees Merle Kilgore, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Wariner and the late Hank Williams Sr., will be honored during a ceremony held in Hall of Fame Park in downtown Nashville, Tenn. The ceremony, which begins at 3 p.m., is sponsored by Great American Country (GAC) and open to the public.

"It's a pleasure to honor the accomplishments of this talented class of inductees," Butch Spyridon, president of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, said. "Each honoree represents the immense talent, creativity and diverse musical styles that have made Nashville, Music City."

Created in the fall of 2006, The Music City Walk of Fame, located on Nashville's Music Mile, is an official project of Music City, Inc., the charitable foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau (NCVB), and is produced with the support of presenting sponsor Gibson Guitar, and sponsors GAC, the City of Nashville and Metro Parks.

The Music City Walk of Fame serves as a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have made significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and have contributed to the world through song or other industry collaboration, according to a press release.

With the induction of this new class of honorees, there will be 24 stars along the Walk of Fame. Previous inductees include the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Frances Preston and Michael W. Smith, as well as Vince Gill, Jimi Hendrix, Reba McEntire, Ronnie Milsap, Roy Orbison and Maestro Kenneth D. Schermerhorn.
