Brentwood, Tenn. - Mocha Club announced today the launch of MyExtraDay.com. Taking advantage of 2016 being a leap year, MyExtraDay is focused on making February 29 more than simply an ordinary Monday. Individuals are being encouraged to do something good for others in a format similar to "pay it forward". The new website will be used to collectively share the experiences as social media users can use the hashtag #ExtraDay2Give to share their stories and also encourage others to join in the day of giving.
"We all have an Extra Day this year, why not make it count? We want to see people intentionally give to others - be encouraging and positive, and love others well," says Curtis Stoneberger, Chief Community Officer for Mocha Club. "When you wake up on the morning of February 29, realize there are so many simple ways you can make an impact. It's as simple as writing a love note to your wife, buying a friend a cup of coffee, or giving a few dollars to an organization you know is making a difference."
While Mocha Club's work is focused in 15 countries across Africa, MyExtraDay is a global, independent initiative for anyone to join in and take part in their own way. "I'm proud of our team for showing initiative to be inclusive of all and encourage everyone to do good toward others," adds Stoneberger. "Collaboration is the key to change and making an impact. This campaign seeks to focus that collaboration for one day."
Mocha Club has enlisted the support of its Club community members in addition to musical artists and bloggers to help share the message of giving to others.
