Around 2007 was about the time news started surfacing about Jaymes Reunion. We started hearing stuff like 'EP out Summer of 2007.' But the Summer went by and nothing new came out. I was still anticipating the album since I had heard one of their songs (It was "Fine" if I remember correctly). But finally, on July 8th, 2008 The Fine EP was released online.
The Fine EP starts out with the title track, "Fine." It's a beautiful track and it simply puts across the message that you don't really know or feel something until you lose it or feel like you've lost it. The theme is very evident with lyrics like, "You never really loved until you watch it fall apart/And you never really lived until you felt like you can die." Then comes the acoustic version of "Fine." Now, in my opinion, the acoustic version is a bit better sounding than the regular version.
"More Than A Day (Acoustic)" comes up next. I'm not sure why they put the acoustic version on here without the original. It just doesn't make any sense. However, it's an okay song. Nothing new, nothing different, it's just a typical acoustic pop song. However, the lyrics do make the song above average.
All in all, The Fine EP is a good 3-track EP that is well worth the $2. But if you're looking for something altogether new, you can just skip this one.
