This is the only brave Saint Saturn album to have been released on Tooth & Nail. The band may not generally be recalled as one of the label’s greatest or most important acts, but when it comes to strong Tooth & Nail albums in and of themselves, The Light of Things Hoped For deserves to be mentioned. Even as the second part of a conceptual trilogy, the album’s story has a pretty solid beginning and end, and the band’s music and lyrics really make the listener feel everything from joy to sorrow to despair to, most importantly, the feeling of victory and hope in Jesus Christ. It’s a terrific album that absolutely earned the 5-star rating we gave it.

So it seems that Reese Roper found a way to ruin our celebration of the Top 100 Tooth & Nail albums even though his band Five Iron Frenzy was never on the label. While it's almost a strange thought, part 2 of the brave Saint Saturn trilogy was actually released on T&N. While I'm personally partial to So Far From Home, there is no denying that The Light of Things Hoped For is a good one. The story of the Saturn 5 mission is actually a pretty compelling one and the storytelling itself is top-notch. While this album's placement in our top 100 was possibly the most surprising thing of the entire project, I can't find a single thing to complain about. I've gotten many hours of enjoyment out of this one and I'm happy to celebrate the USS Gloria and her crew with all of you.
