This album almost didn't happen in its current context. In short, during the mixing process, we had some trouble with files, and for a few days, we thought the album may have been lost. We're glad it wasn't. For many hip hop heads, this was their first taste of the expansive talent of Deepspace 5. Every member shines brightly on the record. Bars upon bars. It helped further break the "you can't be lyrical" glass ceiling in our circles. If you ask fans to rank their top five songs, you'll get a variety of answers, which goes to show just how brilliant the writing and production was on The Night We Called It A Day.
