The Ride is an excellent example of 90's Christian music at its best. Combining 4Him's professional harmony with quality production and talented musicians, this album will not let down anyone who appreciates the pop music of the late twentieth century.
The energetic "Wings" gets The Ride off to a strong start. Though the saxophone solos and jazzy riffs probably made this track a little dated even in the mid-nineties when it came out, it should still sound great no matter when you grew up. "Future Generations" is an inspiring song about how the way we live today affects the future. This message has only become more valid in today's modern culture. The title track, "Ride of Life," will literally take you on a ride with its fast-paced rhythm and fun lyrics.
If you aren't a fan of classic, 90's CCM, some of the songs on The Ride may seem boring and repetitive. But to a connoisseur of classic Christian contemporary pop music, 4Him's 1994 release will not be disappointing.
