Everything I Want To Say

Album length: 11 tracks: 39 minutes, 56 seconds
Street Date: April 9, 2013

Girl fronted rock bands may not typically grab my immediate attention, but if you happen to have a great fan base in Southern California, dropped a slew of releases already, and have a new independent album being produced by Kyle Black (Paramore, All Time Low, Pierce The Veil) then you have my attention already. Throw in some beautiful vocals that can turn into raspy yells, and a band that definitely knows how to play their instruments, and you have a recipe for success. With a new album titled Everything I Want To Say, the band reveals the personal side of their journey over the last few years with positive and on-point topics that may not qualify as deep thoughts, but still remain solid.

"Life Vest" is the first song on the album (which the band also released a music video for) and gives a good idea of what's in store musically for the bulk of the album. It's a good track; the music is haunting at times and the lyrics talk about standing strong as a couple. "Born To Make a Sound" shouts "I was created for more" and "Let Me In Again" follows suit with a central theme of loving ourselves for who we are and not being complacent in this world. Other points driven home, lyrically, include persevering in hard times in "Running Away" and struggles of addiction throughout the ultra-powerful "Bottles."

Musically speaking, the guys in the band handle themselves rather well with good guitar and bass playing. They obtain a great flow and pace with some great drumming in the tracks "Skin and Bone," "Gasoline" and "Chances." Overall, this is a great release for a band that isn't signed to any major label and I can only see them moving forward in the future. They are touring up the West Coast this summer and I would definitely recommended checking them out and grabbing Everything I Want To Say.
