05. Rejoice

Lift
by Audio Adrenaline

Listen:

Lyrics:

I’ll sing this song just as long as I’m breathing
I’m feeling good, I’m feeling right
Come sing a long a song of freedom
Sing every morning and into the night

CHORUS
You’ve got to tell everyone in the land
Come on, come on
Tell every girl, boy, woman, and man
Rejoice, rejoice
That God’s been good yeah good to me
Come on, come on
I’ve been forgiven and it feels good to be free

It’s a beautiful thing when I sing to You Jesus
The days are a joy
The nights are all bright
Even the rocks cry out Your glory
Let everyone rejoice tonight

CHORUS

That God’s been good yeah good to me
Come on, come on
I’ve been forgiven and it feels good to be free

CHORUS

Words and music by Mark Stuart, Will McGinniss, Bob Herdman, Tyler Burkum and Ben Cissell © 2001 Up In The Mix/Flicker USA Publishing (BMI) admin by EMI CMP.

Behind the Song:
'Bob Herdman, former Audio Adrenaline member, had an idea for a long time about doing a song called ‘Rejoice.’ It’s kind of an ‘old-school’ terminology, but it’s a very powerful word. We need to remember that as Christians we are blessed. God sustains us and gives us grace, forgives us, loves us and is faithful. We should be rejoicing. It’s a reminder of what we have in God. It’s an ‘old-school’ way of thought, but this song is definitely not ‘old-school’ type of worship. It turned out to be one of my favorite songs on the record.' - Mark Stuart (Audio Adrenaline)
