Founded in 1996, with a debut in 1999, True Tune artists Jacobstone have been playing shows throughout the region of the Midwest. Two years since their first release, the time seems to have really paid off with Chambers and Volumes.
Chamber And Volumes is inspirational, experimental, and stunning. It's hard to compare anyone to the likes of U2, but Jacobstone truly has the passion and endowment to stand amidst their toes. At times I see a hint of Radiohead, but vocally, lead singer AJ Fink does not scamper with the pack of Thom Yorke wannabes. His voice is easily likeable, as lyrically, the Spirit and emotion flow.
Songs like "Local Ember," "Bedside," "Whispering," and "Take Another Man" experiment in new things while mixing it with many old favorites. "Beauty Vines" can only be described in one word -- beauty; where this is arguably one of the best songs I have heard in a while. Beautifully moody and dreary at times, the honesty and spirit keep Jacobstone ahead of the game.
Jacobstone is truly a secret in independent rock today. Don't hide in your room and run from the sounds, pick up Chambers And Volumes now.
