They tell you where you need to go
They tell you when you need to leave.
They tell you what you need to know
They tell you who you need to be.
But everything inside you
Knows there's more than what you've heard
There's so much more than empty conversations
Filled with empty words
CHORUS
And you're on fire
When He's near you
You're on fire when He speaks
You're on fire burning at these mysteries.
Give me one more time around
Give me one more chance to see.
Give me everything You are
Give me one more chance to be near You.
When everything inside me
Looks like everything I hat
You are the hope I have for change
You are the only chance I'll take
CHORUS 2
And I'm on fire when You're near me
I'm on fire when You speak
I'm on fire burning at these mysteries
I'm standing on the edge of me,
I'm standing on the edge of everything I've ever been
And I've been standing at the edge of me, standing
At the edge
CHORUS 2

Behind the Song:"Daniel Heavenward, a friend of mine from Canada, came out to California and stayed at my place for a day. We went out for pizza, wrote a couple Remy Zero-ish songs, and called it a night. In the morning, about an hour before I was going to drop him off at the train station, this song flew out. We threw it down, I burned a CD for Dan and we raced to the station. This song is so personal- it feels great to play live. On a good night, I feel like I can just throw myself into this song and drift off over the crowd through the PA." - Jon Foreman (
