another big mistake
drove me to my knees alone
I feel my heart could just dissolve
in acetone
my family's on the edge
my friends are all but gone
I'm down and out
unknown direction far from home
but You
You meet me
just as I am
that’s how You take me
I'm in Your hands
even when I'm shaking
and when I bend and break
it’s all for Heaven’s sake
just as I am
that’s how You take me
You take me as I am
walking in Your stride
changed my posture to upright
all the faith I have in You my Lord
is verified
all the doubters have gone quiet
all the haters stupefied
mostly undermined
this time I qualify
You meet me
You meet me
just as I am
that’s how You take me
I'm in Your hands
even when I'm shaking
and when I bend and break
it’s all for Heaven’s sake
just as I am
that’s how You take me
You take me as I am
just as I am oh
just as I am oh
Behind the Song:I am not a fan of re-mixes, let me state that first and foremost. Whenever I see artists putting out a whole album of re-mixes, I cringe. I think it’s a lazy way of putting out product without having to create something through hard work. So… the reason I put a couple of re-mixes on this album are this. 1. I didn't want this to be an EP, and at the time we didn't have financial means or schedule to produce more songs. 2. My great friend Derek Webb, with whom I have the utmost respect for as a musician, agreed to performing his 'deconstruction' of my songs. Like a musical Picasso, I wanted Derek to take my two favorite tracks on the album and turn them upsidewaysdown. -- Kevin Max
