Bronx, NYC - “I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “No one who come to me will every be hungry, and no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty again. But as I told you, you’ve seen me, and yet you do not believe. Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who come to me I will never cast out.” [John 6:35-37]

“The funny thing is, the track was called ‘Aaron Judge’ before the Yankees made the World Series. We wanted to embody the new New York and showcase our bags, our arsenals while sharing a dope message.” - Ayo Shamir

New York City, the birthplace of hip-hop. Ground Zero for the gritty, boom-bap sound. When people sleep on the city that never takes time to rest, when they think they know what to expect, that is when it comes roaring back with a vengeance.

The duo of producer Ayo Shamir and emcee YP aka Young Paul have stepped in as catalysts for the revival of the New York sound over the past two years. They have taken their real-life experience and paired it with the message of the Gospel to turn heads and hearts along the way. With their latest collaboration, they are bringing new energy and excitement the same way the modern-day Bronx Bombers have rejuvenated their City.

“Basically the hook says it all. When we say ‘give me the loot,’ we mean give me the everlasting life over the vain things of this world.” - YP aka Young Paul

Featuring Jonjo and additional production by UK producer Kiger, Aaron Judge hits digital streaming platforms on November 1, 2024.

There’s no way to anticipate, based on past records, what you will experience sonically with Aaron Judge. Shamir and YP both stretched the skills of their respective crafts to formulate a Gritty 2.0 of sorts. No, they are not leaving their calling card approaches behind, they are simply introducing listeners to the next level of the game. Like baseball, hip-hop is never a one-and-done…you gotta be ready to play hard for a seven-game series.

While Aaron Judge may leave others playing catch-up, Ayo Shamir and YP aka Young Paul are busy prepping a joint album that will be on the say. This single is the first taste of what’s to come.
