There is a comfort that will wrap around the breaking
There is a wisdom for the unknown
There is a counsel ever constant in the aching
So close, so close
Oh soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh soul, just be still and know
There is a waiting that will drive the heart to hunger
There is a valley where sorrow sings
Even disappointment can return to awe and wonder
So close, so close
So close, so close
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, just be still and know (Oh, Oh, Oh)
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, just be still and know
Oh, of this one thing I’m confident
Oh, nothing will be missed
Oh, until it’s good it’s not the end
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, just be still and know
Hold on to hope, hold on to hope, oh, hold on to hope
It's gonna be worth, it’s gonna be worth it in the end
Hold on to hope, hold on, hold on, oh
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, just be still and know
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, l just be still and know
Oh, of this one thing I’m confident
Oh, nothing will be missed
Oh, until it’s good it’s not the end
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Oh, soul, just be still and know (Oh, Oh)
Oh, soul, hold on to hope and don’t let go
Don’t let go

Behind the Song:"This was the first song I ever wrote with my friends and producer, Jonathan Smith and Mia Fieldes. Mia connected us and it's the song that started turning our wheels about a future project. We actually loved the original demo so much that we honestly didn’t change much for the final album version. We just polished it up a bit, but it’s pretty true to where it started. And that’s really satisfying because not all songs start out that strong and make it through rounds of elimination when choosing the final album tracks. I’m so glad this one made the cut. Jonathan and Mia are so easy to write with and I love how we pushed ourselves to let this song break the traditional “map” of songs. I love how the verses paint a picture of what holding on to Hope (aka Jesus) feels like and looks like in different seasons. In the hardest moments of life, it’s so easy to want to “let go”, but when we stay close to Jesus in those difficult seasons, I believe there is a supernatural peace and rest that can sustain us. My favorite line is “even disappointment can return to awe and wonder”. I have experienced this first hand through the years of walking with the Lord. He’s brought so much beauty from ashes, but I had to hold on to Jesus through the hard times to eventually get to the other side and experience His redemption and power in those situations. I hope for the listener that feels like quitting, or giving up, that this song will encourage them to hold on to Jesus, our eternal hope. That you if you anchor yourself in Him, you will get through the valleys and storms. And until things are good, hold on, don’t let go." -
