Secondhand is a new three-piece pop-punk act hailing from Muskegon MI. With all the members still in their teens, Secondhand has a youthful feel, yet possess a pretty strong sense of songwriting. Their debut EP 20 Years From Now opens with the title track, a song that addresses the band's fears of getting older with life changing around them. Vocalist and bassist Brandon Eikenberry heads up the band, offering adequate vocals, but leaves plenty of room for improvement. In fact, with the production being quite good for an indie record, produced by Everyday Sunday frontman Trey Pearson, Eikenberry's vocals are probably the weakest element for Secondhand. This only becomes more evident when Pearson lends his vocal talents to the track "Endless Conclusion," and the strength of his voice versus Eikenberry's can be heard clearly. But with every young band, maturity comes in time, and it won't be long before Eikenberry will be able to match his talents with that of his bandmates.

20 Years From Now is a valiant debut. Pop-punk fans looking for a good alternative to the mainstream acts will find a lot to like about Secondhand, even if there's nothing especially innovative about their sound. Pick this one up and keep an eye out for this band in the near future...
