In the summer of 96, the world was shocked and disheartened when the word was given that the great band, PfR, announced their retirement from the music scene. Then, this spring we got word that PfR's bassist, Patrick Andrew was working with a new band. This band is none other than Eager.
Eager blends modern rock with pop for an edgier feel than PfR, yet still throws in some nice ballads here and there, like "Decide for You," "Hand That Can," and "Don't Let Go." Once again, Andrew plays in a band where he not just sings, but shares lead vocals. Guitarist Greg Pope alternates singing songs with Andrew, much like Joel Hanson did in PfR. Pope's & Andrew's vocal differences add more depth to Eager's sound than if just one or the other sang lead.
Songs that are definite highlights are "Touch," "Unspoken," and "Crimson for Downy Flake." If you miss the "Late, Great" PfR, or are in the mood for something new, check out Eager right away.
