

I have enjoyed reading the Left Behind Book Series as they come out, normally finishing the book within the first day that I have access to it. This album, bearing the name of the series, features such names as Third Day, Rebecca St. James, Matt Redman, Delirious, Chris Tomlin and Michael Tait. Most of the songs on the album are older songs that have appeared on other albums, but four songs were written specifically for this project.
The album kicks off with "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" by Sonicflood and Out of Eden. This song was recorded back when Jeff Deyo was the lead singer of Sonicflood, and was released on their first album on Gotee in 1999. The next song features Charlie Peacock and Michael Tait in "The Only Light We Need." This song sounds much like the softer of some of the songs that Tait offers on his album, Empty. Next we find "King Of Glory" by Third Day, which was first featured on Offerings in 2000. Singing along with Mac Powell is a choir that fills out the sound of the song. "Forever and Ever" by Jill Phillips has an acoustic feel to it that compliments her voice. The lyrics praise Christ for winning a battle that we could never win. "In Christ Alone" has an almost Irish feel to it with bagpipes starting it off. Geoff Moore and The Benjamin Gate's Adrienne Liesching combine on vocals to make it a very worshipful song. Rebecca St. James brings us her rendition of "God of Wonders," one of my all time favorites. Matt Redman leads "Better Is One Day," a powerful song describing the desire to be in God's presence. This song is followed up by "Jesus' Blood" by Delirious? - a slow song of thanks that expresses the fact that His blood will never fail us.
The album closes out with 3 more worshipful songs, highlighted by Chris Tomlin's "We Fall Down," a soft, praise chorus that leads me to the feet of God every time I hear it. Overall, I would say that this album is worshipful, but I would have liked to see more new material as opposed to the several songs that have been out on other CDs for several years. Nonetheless, it is a good compilation of quality music.
