Liberty N' Justice formed in 1991 and has had nothing short of a rollercoaster career from the beginning. Recording and splitting several times over the past decade, the founding members Justin Murr and Patrick Marchand struggled to pursue a ministry through music. Well after Murr had thought his days in music had ended, he felt God pushing him to pursue the recording now known as Welcome To The Revolution.

Welcome To The Revolution is an 18-song collection of compositions featuring over fifteen renowned musicians who each have a history in CCM or secular music. Members from acts like Foreigner, Black Sabbath, Journey, Stryper, Guardian, Bride, Petra, White Heart, Whitecross and others add up to an impressive list of appearances on this record. However, the collaborations seem disjointed, random, and unfortunately, even outdated.

Welcome To The Revolution would be the CCM rock fan's dream compilation if it had been released over a decade ago. Much of the music is about as retro as the artists' original acts were and sound anything but fresh in 2004. The raw and sometimes under-produced songs range widely musically from glimpses of modern rock (Jamie Rowe's "Noise") to arena rock and heavy metal (Michael Sweet's title track and Scott Wenzel's "Rise"). The audience for this project is limited as most youth today (that this project is intended to reach) have never heard of the majority of these artists and aren't really into the 80's style of music. This is more appropriate for the parents of today's youth.

The lineup on the new Liberty N' Justice project is nothing less than impressive but may have come at least ten years too late. Fans who remember these artists will definitely want to check this project out. However, unless you're a closet fan of 80's-flavored rock n' roll, then you'll just want to pass this one by.
