After 5+ years on Reach Records, Hulvey says goodbye to the iconic label and steps into a new chapter. The 20-track COULD BE TONIGHT feels like his magnum opus and the right sendoff for the 27-year-old rapper from Georgia. Featuring melodic lines, thought-provoking rhymes, and top-notch production, this is a complete body of work. This is Hulvey at his best, showing growth as a man, a believer, and a child of God. Leaning into the overarching theme of Christ's return, this project was worth the wait.

"HE WILL RETURN" sets the tone immediately. Hulvey is as real as he's ever been face-to-face with the truth that chasing a rap dream cost him more than he bargained for, and that none of it compares to hearing "Well done." It's gut-wrenching. From there, the album journeys through trials and truths that hold real pain alongside beautiful adoration for the Lord. I love this one a ton.

"SURVIVAL," backed by choir chants of "Yea, though I walk through the valley of death," is Hulvey rapping untamed with intense dynamics before finishing with melodic singing over an incredible beat. It's an instant favorite. The album plays like a book, telling a story that flows track to track.

"AMERICAN IDOLZ," featuring DC3, is deep. Hulvey wrestles openly with his career becoming more than God, questioning whether his faith is actually being lived out beneath the fame and the hits. Lyrically, it's one of the most impressive and weighty tracks on the album, accompanied by a punchy beat. These lines from verse 2 hit hardest: "So close to finish Lord / Don't tell me that I sold the vision / I'm a well known Christian / But do I know The Risen? / When we face to face that day / We gon face face that question / Some gon plead they case that day with things / He ain't impressed with / All my record sales / All my charting hits / Did my investments fail / Or did I make Him rich?"

"OCD" and "NIGHT NIGHT," featuring Torey D'shaun, hold their own with sharp lyricism. "YOUNG RULER," "$IGNING DAY," "INFLUENCER," "RICH LIKE THI$," "$EPERATION," and "SKY PRIORITIE$" all feel connected. The dollar sign is doing real thematic work, telling stories pointed at himself, the church, Kanye West (the end of "INFLUENCER$" goes full Kanye-mode), and most of all, money. They're different vibes, but one layered picture.

"DAVE" is a favorite. Taking notes from 2 Samuel, the chorus is immediately catchy, and the concept hits worshipping God with the same reckless abandon David did, "Who said this walk can't be holy? / Who said this place can't be sanctified? / We wrote this one for the Only / Who said we can't be undignified? / Talking, Hands raised, wild, praise / Dance like Dave, dance like Dave / Hands raised, wild, praise / Dance like Dave, dance like."

"SPEECHLESS," featuring Lil Dru & LIN D, and "AUTOMATIC," featuring Connor Price, are straight-up jams that turn it up, and let the beat and lyrics take over. "FOREVER SHINE" and "ROOFTOP" feel like the Hulvey we've come to know and love.

"Rachael's Interlude" is special. Hearing his wife speak about her perspective on their journey together, and what it's meant for her own faith, is an incredible moment that feels perfectly placed. It's beautiful in every way.

COULD BE TONIGHT is real, authentic artistry at its best. Hulvey doesn't dismiss the struggles or the hard revelations he had to face on this project. This is what music should be: artists telling their stories in layered ways that don't fit in a box. This one's going on repeat, and I can't wait to keep streaming it.
