After almost four years of no new music, Joy Williams returned to the music scene with her four song EP One of Those Days, released in January, 2009. Joy now offers fans a little more new music with her digital exclusive Charmed Life (Remixes) EP. The EP starts off with the "Olaj Remix" of "Charmed Life," trading the sweet, whimsical feel of the original with a more melancholy, almost depressing version of the song that doesn't fit well.
Famed producers Bronleewe and Bose treat "Charmed Life" with an electronic edge for a second take, while the "Lark Remix" of "I'm Gonna Break Your Heart" quickens the pace of the song with distracting sound effects and annoying background vocals.
Overall, these remixes don't do the original songs much justice and are honestly not worth paying for, unless you're a diehard fan, that is. Even then you may want to spend your three dollars on something with more substance.
