Christian pop has often had a reputation of being years behind mainstream pop, but former Royal Tailor frontman Tauren Wells does an excellent job closing that gap with his first solo outing, Hills & Valleys. The album doesn't break any new ground sonically or lyrically, but it is fun and focused squarely on Jesus. With the title track already paving the way on the airwaves, Tauren Wells is only going up from here in the CCM industry.
