Split Level is new to the Christian music scene here in America. But they are anything BUT a new band... Split Level was formed in Ireland in the late '80s and, by 1993, they had established themselves as a European favorite when their album Boomerang was named "Album of the Year" by the European Christian Booksellers Journal. Split Level's popularity was further esteemed as they received Europe's "Best Christian Rock Band" award in 1995. And now, a few years later, with new label and a new audience, Split Level's gone glo.bal. This album is very different from what CCM listeners are accustomed to. Lead singer Adrian Thompson has a unique voice that is difficult to draw comparison to, but very listenable. They possess a unique pop/modern rock style throughout their record. At first listen, one may not like it. But, after numerous listens, I believe you'll find they've got something special to bring to music. glo.bal is a solid effort and I highly recommend checking it out. You may have to watch out for these guys to be going somewhere in the U.S. soon.
