Child of God Tour - Part II
Forrest Frank, ELEVATION RHYTHM

3/28/25, at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH

It feels like it was just yesterday that Forrest Frank burst on to the CCM scene with his breakout hit, "No Longer Bound." Since then, he's released a string of popular tracks, culminating in his latest album, Child of God. To support the album, Frank is currently headlining the Child of God Tour, which is split into two parts - Part 1 features smaller, more intimate venues, while Part 2 takes it up a notch with full-on arena shows.

I'd heard from a friend that Forrest Frank is incredible live, but I wasn't sure what to expect. Let's be real; not every artist has the presence or talent to carry a live show. We've all either experienced or heard about concerts that fell flat. So even though I was excited to finally hear some of my favorite Forrest Frank tracks in person, I still found myself wondering: "Would it be worth it?"

The night kicked off strong with ELEVATION RHYTHM. The North Carolina-based group, part of the Elevation Church family, caters to the next generation of worshippers. They performed in front of a large black curtain, and even though there were only three vocalists on stage (instead of their usual five or six), they delivered a solid set. They played crowd favorites like "This Is The Gospel," "Goodbye Yesterday," and even covered Elevation Worship's "Praise." Their energy helped set the tone for the rest of the night. I especially appreciated how, even with their upbeat sound, RHYTHM still made space for moments of intimate worship, something that perfectly set the stage for Forrest Frank's high-energy, spirit-filled set.

After about 30-35 minutes, it was time for Forrest Frank. As RHYTHM cleared the stage, you could see Frank's unique stage setup come into view. A giant LED screen with a faux green hill took up most of the stage -- an homage to the tour's promo visuals of Frank standing in a serene green field, headphones on, soaking up the sun.

The show opened with "What Living Is About," featuring Dr. Neil Frank. A video of Dr. Frank sharing his testimony played on the LED screen, while the words "You came to set us free" echoed softly in the background. The anticipation in the arena was electric. Chills. One by one, Frank's band members emerged from behind the hill and took their positions. As the video ended, the intro to "No Longer Bound" rang out -- and just like that, Forrest Frank appeared at the top of the hill as the crowd erupted, singing along with every word.

From there, Frank poured his heart into the first half of his set, delivering hit after hit: "UP!," "Praises (Remix)" featuring Brittany Diaz of Elevation RHYTHM, and "God Is Good," which included a special moment where a fan from the audience stepped in to rap Caleb Gordon's part. He even blessed the crowd with two unreleased tracks that had fans buzzing -- surefire hits when they officially drop.

The second half of the show took place on a B-Stage, where Forrest performed "Safe and Sound" on his keyboard. After that, Frank gave the audience a behind-the-scenes look at how he creates his music. His computer screen was projected onto the LED wall for everyone in the arena to see, as he broke down each sound, layer by layer. It was easily one of the more incredible moments you don't typically experience at a concert.

To close out the night, Forrest returned to the main stage and played more fan favorites: "Good Day," "Always," "Hallelujah," "Lift My Hands," and one of my personal favorites, "Child of God" -- which features Pastor Jonathan Pokluda narrating what it means to be a child of God. This powerful moment transitioned seamlessly into a calm, worshipful atmosphere, with Frank leading the crowd in songs like "Heart of Worship," "Hosanna," "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus," and "Nothing Else." Seeing an arena full of people across generations singing to the Lord was incredibly moving. Bringing the energy back up, Frank performed "Altar" (his collab track with CHH artist Hulvey). Musically, Frank and his team couldn't have picked a better track to transition out of that beautiful moment.

In classic concert fashion, Forrest briefly left the stage, only to return for an encore, closing the show with "Never Get Used To This." Confetti burst through the air, green lights bathed the room, and Frank even made his way into the crowd to dance with fans in the pit. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable, worship-filled night. Child of God Tour - Part II was exceptional, and one of the best shows I've been to in the last year. Personally, I can't till Forrest Frank tours again, because when he does, I will be there.
