For our 6th annual Highlighting feature, we're doing things a little differently. Normally, we select our top 25 most anticipated releases for the whole year, but we realize that it's tough to really gauge EVERYTHING that may release throughout a given year when we're making the list in January. So, for 2012, we're splitting the year into TWO pieces -- January to June and July to December (Click here for Part 2). Also, we're making each list 15 artists/releases for a total of 30 in 2012. So, without further ado, we give you Highlighting First-Half 2012!

#12. Plumb
Faster Than A Bullet

Release Date: Spring 2012
It's been fifteen years since Plumb released her self-titled debut, and five years since her last studio album: a beautiful lullabies album titled Blink. There's something really fun about the producer of her first album, Jars Of Clay's Dan Haseltine, having performed on her newest single, "Drifting," and it all just pumps me up for what may come next from the singer/songwriter. With it being five years since Blink, I'm very, very curious to see where Faster Than A Bullet is headed.
        - John DiBiase

Has it really been five years since Plumb's last full-length? (And that was a lullaby record.) If her Dan Haseltine duet "Drifting" is any indication, Faster than a Bullet is going to be a return to the classic, awesome alternative Plumb sound her fans have grown to love.
        - Jen Rose

After a highly successful early career, including providing vocal inspiration for Amy Lee of Evanescence, Plumb quietly backed out of the limelight and focused her efforts on her own children and family life. As a result, her last full-length album was 2007's Blink, a collection of lullabies of sorts. Meanwhile, her last true rock album, the solid Chaotic Resolve, was released all the way back in 2006, so it's been a long time since we've heard all that Plumb is really capable of. Here's hoping she picks up right back where she left off.
