Fresh off his latest endeavor,
Apocalypsis, Matthew Konradt's
Relentless Pursuit has characteristically already produced a brand new single, "He Is Coming." Likely the lead single for a new full-length album, Konradt looks to be pushing his boundaries a little bit again with some of the heaviest music of his career. The opening moments of the song are brutal, and the song as a whole is far more deathcore than metalcore. His most recent work has been trending that way, and I like that he's letting his music evolve naturally instead of going one direction and then unexpectedly doubling back - especially with his mega-prolific release schedule. On that note, however, each new Relentless Pursuit release has begun to feel like just a stepping stone to the next album, with each previous release getting its two months in the limelight before being discarded for the next batch, particularly when the evolution from one album to the next is minuscule. "He Is Coming" is a solid track, but it's difficult to appreciate it while his discography is oversaturated with constant new releases. Still, it's an enjoyable song and is worth checking out if you like deathcore.
