Heather Mangum is a singer/songwriter and worship leader from Los Angeles, California. With her official bio consisting of three quotes from adamant fans of her music and worship style, the rest of Heather Mangum's music life seems to be unknown to new listeners. We do know, however, that she is devoted to writing her music for Jesus and leading others into His presence through her songs. Her latest release is a self-titled EP from 2008 containing four songs that seem to pour straight from Mangum's heart. When you listen to her EP, you can really tell that she means what she says, and that her desire to lead people into worship is sincere. From a musical standpoint, it may seem that she's desiring to lead into worship the church congregations of the 90s. Her style is similar to the contemporary and praise & worship acts of that day, like SONICFLOOd, or even the styles you could find back then from Steven Curtis Chapman and Rebecca St. James. Though a lot of people can name songs and bands they loved (and still love) from the 90s, it's another thing completely to be a modern artist making music from that era. It's dated, and really hard to jump into it and be enjoyable today. Those wanting some new songs to help lead themselves into worship may find some good stuff with Heather Mangum's EP, but if the music plays an important role in your worship, you probably won't.
