Peter118 is a punk band from England making music since around 2014. The group intends to share the news of Christ through the punk sub-culture and in places the church cannot reach. They really hit the ground running in 2017 with their split EP with No Lost Cause, In Stereo. In 2021, the band released the rather blatantly titled UK Christian Punk Rock in what continues to be a rather fun revival of punk music. The first half of their newest EP is a copy/paste of the songs released on their split EP with The Bricks in 2018. Out of the older three songs, "Started Thinking" is the clear favorite. The song has a little more edge, is in your face, and also manages to be a super catchy earworm at the same time. The back half of the EP contains the 2019 single, "Waiting;" the 2020 single, "Excrutiantal;" and the previously unreleased "Great I Am," featuring Lisa Cox. While most of the EP was previously released, it does a great job of putting these songs into an easy to find and listen to collection. Lyrically, the songs boldly proclaim Jesus. "Waiting" starts with a reading of John 1:1, whereas "Great I Am" has Lisa Cox singing,"You are Lord over all creation; You are true and Your words don't fail. You're the key to my one salvation; You're the freedom that let's me sail. You are the Great I Am..." to kick things off.

UK Christian Punk Rock isn't breaking any new ground, but Peter118 is helping to keep this current trend of new punk rock rolling. There is plenty to like about the EP, from more pop/punk oriented numbers like "For Your Glory" and "Great I Am," to the more aggressive sounding punk tracks, like "Started Thinking" and "Excrutiantal." There is a little something here for fans of different punk sounds to enjoy. It's nice to see Peter118 still rocking and spreading the message of salvation after first hearing them 5 ago years ago with No Lost Cause. Punk fans should certainly give this one a listen!
