What stands out regarding the bio for
Revelators Music is that the starting point is Alabama, the current place is Amsterdam, and the sound is inspired by East African and South American rhythms. With such a variety of influences, one would expect a Revelators Music song to be a unique experience. Their latest single, "Value," lives up to that expectation. The music is upbeat and catchy, giving off vibes similar to Rusted Root's popular hit "Send Me On My Way." The track nails that fun folk sound that would likely translate well to a live setting. Lyrically, it doesn't break new ground, but it is encouraging in its focus on how we are valued by God since we're made in his image. Where the single wavers slightly is in the vocal delivery of the chorus. It borders on feeling like the singer is forcing more energy into the song than needed. That may be more of a taste thing, but this reviewer was distracted by it. Overall, though, Revelators Music carries an indie energy into the praise and worship realm that is welcomed and needed. Give "Value" a listen and then consider the other tracks the group has released so far, as well.
