Man: …Your body’s been buried for three days
And this death bears such bitter taste
Once I doubted, twice I believed
Thrice did I deny Your Name
I thought I knew everything
Now I know nothing

Your death is as disturbing as Your presence in our midst

As Your presence wrought disturbance
So Your love sowed seeds superfluous to our needs,
Which far surpass our own abilities
We are so undeserving; I am an undeserving “king”

Upon this throne which belongs not to me
A heart of stone, once beating, now deceased
So cold, Oh! So diseased
Cut down this cursed and cancerous crown
Which has adorned my brow for far too long
Upon this throne I don’t belong
I’ll lay my heart down in the grave in which we buried You that day

Until that cold stone rolls away
And You emerge
Death and decay, both laid to waste
Scars in Your hands, those hands that save
Those hands in which my heart was made
Those hands that held the nails,
That held You to the cross,
That You carried to Calvary for us
As we cried, “Crucify the man called ‘Jesus Christ!’”

With thorns in your brow, you have crowned yourself King

Deceiver/ Creator: Return my keys, You “king” of thieves
I HOLD THEM NOW, IN DEATH’S DEFEAT
Your body is broken, as is Your bride
MY SPIRIT IS STRONGER, MY CHILDREN SURVIVE
I’ll never cease to feed them lies
I’LL FALL THE SCALES OFF OF THEIR EYES
Their flesh faults them from Heaven’s Gates
THEIR SINS ARE COVERED BY MY GRACE
This world belongs to those who fell
NO, SATAN, YOU BELONG TO HELL

Man: And every soul shall sing…
