Sometimes you need to get back to your heartbeat Just like it was when you were born
There were no trials or confusion
Just loving hands to keep you warm
Sometimes you need to get back to your heartbeat Innocent and unafraid
Wrapped in love without illusion
Bright eyes open every day
Before you were stressed out about your wardrobe Before you struggled in your job
Before you cared about possessions
You were cradled in the hands of GOD
Before you had your whole life planned out And your ego got in the way
Before you cared about opinions
And what all your friends would say
Sometimes you need to get back to your heartbeat Before the rules made you change
Before the schools and conditioning
Before you learned to be afraid
Sometimes you need to get back to your heartbeat With a Love that's free and bold
Unconditional and perfect
A peace more powerful than gold
Before you were stressed out about your wardrobe Before you struggled in your job
Before you cared about possessions
You were cradled in the hands of GOD
Before you had your whole life planned out And your ego got in the way
Before you cared about opinions
And what all your friends would say
Just think about the Love of JESUS And how he's loved you since the day You had your first heartbeat
