Let me lay another prayer on You Holy Spirit
If You'll hear me
About my dad who's falling astray

He's a carpenter, But he's no Saint Joseph
He has his faults, I know I have got em' too
He did the best, with what he had
But now he's slippin', slippin' away from You

So won't You hold him, in Your arms Lord
Like a hen who gathers in her young
Shower him, in Your Mercy
He maybe hasn't felt Your love in so long

Let me lay another prayer on you Holy Spirit
If You'll hear me
About my dad, who's drifting away

He never really knew, the love of a father
But he managed to show it to his sons
If he's to ever, feel it now
Lord You're the only One

So won't You hold him, in Your arms Lord
Help him confess with his tongue
And receive him, Divine Mercy
He maybe hasn't felt your love in so long

Let me lay another prayer on you Holy Spirit
If You'll hear me
About my dad, who may have lost his way

Help him to forgive, so he's forgiven
As You taught us in Your Holy Prayer
Lead him, not into temptation
Lord I place him into Your care

So will You, hold him, in Your arms Lord
I know You're standing with them open wide
Will Your heal him, and his heart Lord
I know he carries wounds deep inside

Let me lay another prayer on you Holy Spirit
If You'll hear me, about my dad
