08. The Day The Blind Revolted

Of Truth And Reconciliation
by Staple

They controlled everything feigning objectivity
until the day the blind revolted and contested their reality.
The wool will pull with vigilance
Question your life of innocence

Open eyes reveal the thing that’s been missing:
Peace of mind – that we won’t fall for anything

Or fall in line accepting rations naively

For now we find we won’t be swayed so easily with open eyes

“We take their minds away ‘til they believe the truth that we’ve made.”
“We throw their hearts away so they will fit our society”
I’m not sold so easily. Truth is not a processed good dependant on geography.
Virgin eyes smell conspiracy – there’s more than what there seems to be.

Lyrics by Darin Keim, Music by Staple

Behind the Song:
"This song encourages individuals to question the “facts” they have been told by media, parents, friends or churches. Many people blindly follow what they have been told to think and feel about reality. The result is a mentality that has been wholly assembled and manipulated by beliefs of such parties listed above. American culture says “believe in whatever you want” but then it steers us in a different direction if our beliefs involve absolute truths. Why? As soon as you believe in absolutes, they are required to change, and that would be stepping on toes. It’s a lot more comfortable accepting everyone’s beliefs as valid. Unfortunately, we will never discover the genuine truth as long as everyone is right and no one is wrong." - Darin Keim (Staple)
