Behind the Song:
"As a young mother you feel invincible. You feel like you will see your children grow old and not miss a thing. You forget that at some point, you won't be there any more. During the writing process of "Blink" I had a friend lose both his mother and father in a fatal car accident. He and his wife, newlywed, were paralyzed emotionally by the sudden loss. I wrote this the day after the accident from the perspective of the mother who died... what she might say to her son if she could, that although she is no longer here to kiss the bruise or heal the scrape, she will always love him and he can take that with him forever.
