EMI CMG BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – January 11, 2008 – In one of the first deals of its kind, EMI CMG Publishing and Lilly Mack Publishing, home to the song catalog of Grammy® Award winning, multi-platinum artist Kirk Franklin, and one of the world’s largest Gospel music catalogs, have agreed to a groundbreaking partnership that will open new territories for gospel songwriters and their music, announced Eddie DeGarmo, president of EMI CMG Publishing and Vicki Mack-Lataillade and Claude Lataillade, owners of Lilly Mack Music Publishing and founders of Gospo Centric Records. Under this unique agreement, this market leading Gospel catalogue will work with the biggest Christian music publisher to extend the reach of the Gospel genre beyond its core market.

Effective immediately, EMI CMG Publishing and Lilly Mack Publishing have entered into a long-term worldwide administration and exploitation deal and new writer development co-publishing partnership. With a united motivation for serving gospel songwriters, the companies will work together on all aspects of Lilly Mack Publishing’s business including promoting gospel songs to the church. The companies will also pursue new opportunities in the licensing of music for film, television, advertising, electronic gaming and print; one of the first strategic ventures to market gospel repertoire in these forms of entertainment.

“Vicki and Claude are to be congratulated on building Lilly Mack Publishing into one of the most successful and prominent publishing companies in all of music in the same way they built Gospo Centric Records into the foremost gospel record label,” said Bill Hearn, president and CEO of EMI Christian Music Group (EMI CMG). “The gospel genre has been one of the most stable forms of music in the industry. We are honored that one of the most successful executive teams in gospel have entrusted EMI CMG to help take their powerful songs and talented writers to greater levels of impact. I am confident that Vicki, Claude, Eddie and their teams will create an effective force as they continue to find new outlets for Lilly Mack’s current writers and catalog and discover the next generation of great gospel music writers.”

Inglewood, Calif. based Lilly Mack Publishing’s catalog is comprised of more than 800 songs written by some of gospel music’s premier artists and writers. Kirk Franklin, who has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide (“Fight of My Life,” released last month, hit the Billboard Top 200 chart at #33 and scanned 75,000 units) will star in the upcoming Lions Gate film, “Church Boy,” gospel writers and artists Byron Cage, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Hezekiah Walker, Myron Butler, Kurt Carr, Carnell Murrell and Trin-i-tee 5:7 are among Lilly Mack’s stellar roster. The company, founded and led by Vicki Mack-Lataillade and Claude Lataillade, has 15-plus years of A&R and publishing experience in the gospel and urban market.

Church Boy is projected to debut in theatres nationwide in 2008 and includes several songs by Kirk Franklin from the Lilly Mack catalog.

Lilly Mack Publishing is having one of its best years in 2007. Its writers have received multiple nominations and awards at the Grammy, Stellar, Dove, BET and NAACP Image Awards, highlighted by Franklin’s song “Imagine Me,” which won the first Grammy ever presented for Best Gospel Song at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. The publishing company has had numerous #1 Billboard gospel chart-topping songs and landed tunes in several major theatrical releases and television shows, including “Any Given Sunday,” “Kingdom Come,” “The Gospel,” “American Idol,” “The Parkers,” “Sister Sister”, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” BET’s Sunday’s Best,” and many more.

“I’m proud of what Lilly Mack has accomplished and believe we are still a growing company with tremendous potential. This was a perfect moment in our company’s history to find a partner in EMI CMG Publishing that will understand our writers and their music and will help them to flourish in the years ahead,” said Mack Lataillade who will continue to be the new partnership’s creative envoy to the gospel industry.

In addition to the administration and exploitation of the existing catalog worldwide and new writer signings, a major focus of the partnership will be introducing Lilly Mack songs to the broader church community and onto the CCLI charts representing the church’s most sung songs. EMI CMG Publishing has had great success in recent years with 4 of the top 6 songs currently sung in North American churches, and two more in the top ten. The partnership will work closely with EMI CMG’s WorshipTogether.com in an effort to make churches around the world aware of Lilly Mack’s extensive catalog of worship songs. EMI CMG also plans to further maximize the value of Lilly Mack’s catalog by producing and marketing sheet music, songbooks, method books for voice and musical instruments and other print music products.

EMI CMG Publishing will also contribute its impressive record of placing more than 150 songs in Films, TV programs, and video games, including “Underdog,” “Game Plan,” “American Idol,” “C.S.I.,” “Catch & Release,” “The Fast & The Furious,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and NFL and Fox Sports promos, to the Lilly Mack catalog.

“I look forward to a relationship of creativity and collaboration with Vicki and Claude, arguably the most prolific and successful creative team in Gospel music history. Lilly Mack already represents some incredible songs and I am very comfortable in saying that EMI CMG Publishing will help this music reach places where it has never gone before,” said DeGarmo. “I am also excited to see what new music, writers and artists we can mutually discover that might be the next generation’s Kirk Franklin.”

Twenty-year publishing veteran, Sandy Adams will join the new partnership in the area of Creative Management. “It has been a joy and privilege serving Lilly Mack as Director of Copyright for the past thirteen years, and I look forward to working with the new creative team to bring the catalogue to new levels of success”, says Sandy.
