NEWS SOURCE: Switchfoot, a Jesusfreakhideout.com report
April 30, 2010

Switchfoot Last night Switchfoot made a suprising announcement... you can get your chance to record a song with them! "We've been hinting for a few weeks that we had a special surprise... well here it is," the band writes before making the reveal...

"We are partnering with a new website called bidfire.com to help raise money for one of our favorite charities: Stand Up For Kids. We are holding an online auction, and the winner will get to record a song with Switchfoot. Better yet, this song will get released on iTunes. If you've ever dreamed about collaborating in the studio with the band, now's your chance! If you don't have any kind of musical background on an instrument, you can hit the tambourine, shake the maracas, or simply just sit back and watch the process. In addition to recording the song with the band, you will be our special guest, with VIP access, at the San Diego County Fair on June 24th and the Bro-Am fundraiser on June 26th. Your trip, including airfare and hotel accommodations, will be covered.

The auction will start on May 28th at 12pm PST. You need to register for the auction, and spots in the auction are limited, so please visit http://bidfire.com/switchfoot and sign up to guarantee your spot."
