Nashville, Tenn. June 30, 2011…. Weeks after the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album All Things Bright and Beautiful, Owl City is unveiling the nostalgic and quirky music video for “Deer in the Headlights.”

AOL premiered the video and can currently be viewed exclusively at aolmusic.com. The video is also being featured on Owl City’s AOL Music Artist page, AOL Music Blog, Just So You Know, and AOL’s Twitter and Facebook accounts. In the video, Adam Young of Owl City finds himself traveling in a “Back to the Future” inspired DeLorean and takes a ride through his imagination seeing everything from a jellyfish to a Tyrannosaurus.

"It's a quirky video for a cheeky song that quips, 'Why are we in love if it's for all the wrong reasons?'" Young said. "The song is about fending off the blinding light of superficial fluff relationships and saying, 'Thanks, but I'd rather be alone and thus avoid a million shallow heartbreaks until I meet the girl of my dreams.'"

All Things Bright and Beautiful, which debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in its debut week, is available now and is the follow-up full-length studio album to Owl City’s platinum-selling Ocean Eyes. Released in July 2009, Ocean Eyes was certified platinum in just eight short months and earned Owl City a slew of critical acclaim (New York Times, Rolling Stone, People, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, etc.). Ocean Eyes’ sales were led by the runaway single “Fireflies” which is currently quadruple platinum in the US. “Fireflies” hit #1 on the Hot 100 twice and found its’ way to the #1 spot in 24 countries around the world.

In support of the new album – All Things Bright and Beautiful – Owl City is currently performing shows across the United States as part of the North American leg of his headlining world tour– confirmed dates below. For the most up-to-date information, please visit www.owlcitymusic.com.

About Owl City:
Owl City’s Adam Young, an unassuming 24 year-old Midwesterner, catapulted onto the music scene with the blockbuster success of Owl City’s major-label debut album — the lush, lovingly created Ocean Eyes, which was released by Universal Republic Records in July 2009. Filled with whimsical melodies and blissful beats that Young conjured up alone in the basement of his parents’ home in Owatonna, Ocean Eyes topped the Billboard Rock, Alternative, and Dance/Electronic charts and was certified gold or platinum in nine countries, including platinum in the U.S. The album spawned the quadruple-platinum first single “Fireflies,” which was a No. 1 smash hit in 24 countries including the U.S. (where it hit the top spot twice), and sold more than four million downloads. Its eye-popping success has made Owl City an international phenomenon, selling nearly 12 million tracks worldwide and amassing an impressive touring record, including support stints with Maroon 5 and John Mayer, and sold-out headlining tours in which Young, backed by a five-piece band, performed for besotted fans in the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Owl City will release the highly anticipated follow-up, All Things Bright and Beautiful, on June 14.
