NASHVILLE, Tenn. - (April 10, 2015) - America's deep interest in Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's "The Bible" continues with a sensational start to The Bible Tour 2015 just days after the #1 debut of "A.D. The Bible Continues" on NBC. Episode 2 airs this Sunday 9/8c on NBC and America will witness the much anticipated Ascension of Jesus.
The Bible Tour 2015, based on the hit miniseries and featuring some of today's top Christian music stars, kicked off Wednesday night at Victory Family Church in Pittsburgh with the first of six sold-out shows. The next five stops in Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Stamford (2 shows), Connecticut, and Chicago on the 16-show tour have also sold out.
"It's exciting to be a part of a tour where all of the focus is truly on Jesus and not on the artists," said Francesca Battistelli. "God is doing great things through this tour!"
The concert event brings the Bible to life through live performances of today's biggest songs paired with breathtaking visuals from "The Bible" miniseries. The all-star lineup includes GRAMMY and Dove award-winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman, Dove Artist of the Year and top-selling performer Francesca Battistelli, three-time Dove Male Vocalist of the Year Brandon Heath and American Idol finalist Danny Gokey, who recently garnered his first No. 1 at Christian radio. Fans also will get a sneak peek of upcoming episodes of "A.D. The Bible Continues," which drew nearly 10 million viewers for its debut on Easter Sunday. The tour will wrap up April 26 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Bible Tour 2015 is a partnership between 25 Entertainment, K-LOVE, Lightworkers Media and ministry partner ChildFund International.
