NASHVILLE, TENN. (DECEMBER 15, 2016) Multi-platinum selling and GRAMMY-award winning band CASTING CROWNS has been awarded RIAA Platinum certification for their Christmas album Peace On Earth. This marks their fifth career Platinum certification in addition to their 2x multi-Platinum album, two RIAA Platinum DVDs, seven RIAA Gold albums, four Gold DVDs, one RIAA Platinum single and five RIAA Gold certified digital singles. The group continues to hold the position as Billboard's top-selling act in Christian music since 2007 with more than 10 million album sales.

"We are so thankful our songs are being heard and that we can be a small part of keeping Christ in Christmas around the world through our music," shares frontman Mark Hall.

Casting Crowns closes a busy 2016 with this certification as they released their newest studio project The Very Next Thing in September to much acclaim and praise. The Very Next Thing is full of intimate songs as well as upbeat, fresh sounding tracks that will meet the listener with lyrics that impact with a strong message song after song. The group's latest offering produced their 11th No. 1 radio single with the debut track "One Step Away."

Casting Crowns has also just completed the first leg of their headline tour with more than 35 dates across the country and will continue in 2017 starting in February with more than 40 dates. Click here for dates in the new year.

ABOUT CASTING CROWNS: Prolific CCM band Casting Crowns has achieved sales milestones with 10 million album sells including one RIAA 2x multi-Platinum album, five RIAA Platinum albums, two RIAA Platinum DVDs, seven RIAA Gold albums, four Gold DVDs, one RIAA Platinum certified single and five RIAA Gold certified digital singles. The band currently holds the position as Billboard’s top-selling act in Christian music since 2007. ??Casting Crowns has also been honored with four American Music Awards (out of seven total nominations), a GRAMMY Award for its 2005 album Lifesong, and six GRAMMY nominations. In addition, the group has garnered 17 GMA Dove Awards and two Billboard Music Awards from 11 total Billboard Music Award nominations.
 
Casting Crowns’ seven band members all remain active in student ministry in the Atlanta area and tour according to their local church commitments. Serving his 25 plus years in youth ministry, lead singer/songwriter Mark Hall maintains his role as the student pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta.
