(NASHVILLE, TN) – October 11, 2019 – GRAMMY®, Billboard Award-nominated, and DOVE Award-winning triple-threat artist Tauren Wells announces the release date for his highly anticipated sophomore album, Citizen of Heaven , the follow-up to his award-winning debut solo album, Hills and Valleys , which launched in 2017 just as Wells was joining Lionel Richie’s All The Hits Tour with special guest Mariah Carey .
Citizen of Heaven is available now for pre-order now and will release everywhere January 24, 2020. Two tracks from the new album can be streamed and purchased now: “ Miracle ” and “ Close ,” which features Steven Furtick of Elevation Worship .
Wells’ sophomore album boasts several incredible collaborations, including “Millionaire (Good Like That),” with multiple GRAMMY® Award winner Kirk Franklin, who lends his signature sound to the song which he also produced; multiple CMA Award-winning trio Rascal Flatts on “Until Grace”; Steven Furtick of Elevation Worship on “Close”; and Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music on “Famous For (I Believe).” Producers Chuck Butler and Jordan Sapp co-produced 10 of the album’s 12 tracks, with additional production on the remaining tracks by Rascal Flatts , Kirk Franklin , Max Stark and Colby Wedgeworth .

Wells’ GRAMMY®-nominated and critically acclaimed solo debut album, Hills and Valleys , debuted top five on the Billboard Top Christian Charts after its 2017 release. His debut solo single, the album’s title track, was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America®) in 2018. Its accompanying acoustic music video has been viewed over 40 million times.
Currently, Wells is enjoying his first headlining tour, The Hills and Valleys Tour . Tauren Wells debuted his solo music in 2017 with the danceable pop hit, “Love Is Action”, which held the No. 1 spot at CHR radio for eight weeks, and the hard-hitting “Undefeated” featuring rapper KB. Those hits were then followed by the GRAMMY®-nominated and RIAA Certified GOLD “Hills and Valleys”, the piano and cello-driven thought-provoking track that quickly climbed the radio and sales charts and jumped to the Top 10 at the Christian Airplay radio chart for multiple weeks. The following single, “When We Pray” reached #2 at Christian Radio, and third single, “Known”, spent multiple weeks at #1 on the Billboard Christian Radio Airplay chart.
