On May 23rd, the band Willet (made up of brothers Jeremy, Justin, and Jordan Willet) will release their first song in 9 years, titled “Shooting Star”. The last project released by the band was in 2014 (Searchlight) and the band performed their farewell concert in July 2019.
Reflecting on the fact that all band members now have daughters, “Shooting Star” is a love letter from a father to his daughter encouraging her to be exactly who she was made to be. The song was written and recorded remotely while all band members were out on separate tours supporting other artists and organizations.
The band worked with longtime friend and front of house engineer, Chris Leonard for support in the recording process, and returned to producer of their “Love on the Outside E.P.” (2012), Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost) to mix the song. Mastered by Aram Piligian.
“Shooting Star” can be found on all major streaming services beginning on May 23rd, 2023.
