Emmy Award-winning, Singer/Songwriter, Gospel hit-maker and Amazon best-selling author Earnest Pugh releases the anticipated The Very Best of Earnest Pugh on Shanachie Entertainment today! Shanachie General Manager Randall Grass states, “We are thrilled to welcome Earnest Pugh to the Shanachie family. His extraordinary voice and consistently outstanding songs set a standard of quality that means a lot on the contemporary scene.”
The Very Best of Earnest Pugh is a collection that reminds us Earnest Pugh’s stirring body of work, potent voice and moving ministry. It showcases such signature hits as “Rain on Us” and “The Great I Am,” as well as two new tracks featuring Zacardi Cortez and Nakitta Foxx respectively. It is a timely reminder of Earnest’s impact and contributions over the past fifteen years. He is currently at radio with his second single from The Very Best of Earnest Pugh, "Keeper Of Our Souls," which is steady climbing the charts. Earnest shares, “It’s one thing to know Jesus as Lord and Savior but in a climate with increased crimes, a failing economy, and uprise in gun violence, it's imperative that we know Him as ‘Keeper Of Our Souls,’ because leaving home and coming back, is not a guarantee in these uncertain times.” In February 2023 Earnest released the anthem “Keep Hope Alive,” featuring Dr. Jamal Bryant for Black History Month. Earnest Pugh is a 20-year military veteran and founder of his own Non-Profit Organization, Veterans Emergency Relief, which provides food, shelter and clothing throughout the Houston region. He also volunteers his services to veterans dealing with issues of depression and suicide. Pugh shares, “’Keep Hope Alive’ resonated in my heart this year more than ever. I felt an urgency to insert this message into today’s climate of civil unrest, police brutality, and social in justice as a shot in the arm that will empower us with a greater determination to be hopeful that things will get better. Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant, one of the most prolific orators of this time, weighs in with excerpts from his ‘The Audacity.’”
Earnest Pugh launched his gospel recording career 15 years ago and scored a major breakthrough in 2009 with the Billboard #1 gospel hit “Rain On Us.” Pugh, who is a worship leader at The Church Without Walls in Houston, TX, also scored Billboard #1 hits for the songs “I Need Your Glory,” “God Wants To Heal You” and “Thank You So Much.” Dubbed “Gospel’s Leading Man,” Earnest Pugh has garnered multiple Stellar Award nominations and he is a recipient of the prestigious BMI (Broadcast Music Industry) award for long standing radio-play with his rendition of “I Need Your Glory." With a five-octave range, Earnest consistently sets the bar for quality gospel music as singer, songwriter, producer, label executive and mentor.
