Florida - “‘My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.’” [John 10:27-29]
R.kitect has broken out in 2024 with the April release of his acclaimed single “Weapons Free,” working alongside veteran CHH artist Datin. Following the single’s success, the Florida emcee delivers his new project Relax, I’ve Done This Before.
“Let’s take a walk through the wilderness. I like the ambiance.” - R.kitect
Relax, I’ve Done This Before is a 7-song project that puts R.kitect’s artistry front and center and establishes him as “One to Watch” among the quickly evolving landscape of CHH.
The strength and conviction in R.kitect’s vocal tone is undeniable throughout the entire run of Relax, I’ve Done This Before. Whether he is addressing the Body of believers regarding the ability to miss the bigger picture by focusing on trivial issues, working his way through past experiences that prove difficult to let go, or simply accepting the calling that has been placed on his life, R.kitect wears his heart on his sleeve and welcomes the listener to his inner circle.
The project includes features from DJ Numan, rising artist ATTAM, and the genre-leading artist Datin of God Over Money.
It is a bold statement that is being made with Relax, I’ve Done This Before. In fact, it is a message that will probably leave some in the Christian rap space feeling uneasy due to the look-in-the-mirror nature at its core. Even so, R.kitect is showing that he is not one to shy away from topics that need to be addressed.
If you are a fan of real hip hop and gravitate towards albums packed with honesty while challenging you to explore your own beliefs (as opposed to cookie-cutter clones that have plagued the genre for far too long), then this album is certain to be in your Best of 2024 list. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience hip hop in its purest form as R.kitect has crafted one of the year’s special projects.
Relax, I’ve Done This Before releases on digital streaming platforms on May 10, 2024. Be sure to add your favorite tracks from the project to your personal playlist.
