Jackson, TN - “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. I sanctify myself for them, so that they also may be sanctified by the truth.” [John 17:17]
The purpose of the truth is not to shame or humiliate. Instead, it is to encourage us to move with confidence by knowing that we are set free by the truth. We are free to fulfill our purpose for being on this earth, in this moment, and supporting others on their journey. There is no option for going backwards, instead we Raise the Stakes as we move against the current of today’s culture that is driven by confusion.
“‘Raise the Stakes’ explores the importance of staying authentic. Not merely in a ‘I keep it real’ way, but as a critical testimonial element of our calling in the world. I enjoyed the beat switch-up which allowed me to approach the same topic from multiple angles.” - Darius Mullin
Following the release of “Emily Dickerson Freestyle,” which reintroduced him to the Christian hip hop scene after a lengthy hiatus, Darius Mullin has a new single in the form of Raise the Stakes.
Raise the Stakes drops across digital streaming platforms on May 21, 2024.
The new record is the second release that resulted from a writing session inspired by beats from producer Daniel Potts. The result is an eclectic, adventurous sonic ride that engages the listener throughout record’s entire run.
Mullin stands as a bridge between the modern era of CHH and its foundational roots. As a student of the artists who worked to push the genre to its current status, Mullin finds unique ways to bring the past and present together that feel authentic.
