After five years since her debut, Anike, formerly known as Wande, returns with her sophomore self titled LP. Her latest offering is a powerful journey of surrender, restoration, and breakthrough. Over the past four years, she has faced numerous challenges that tested her resolve both personally and as an artist. Confronting deep-seated insecurities and severe physical manifestations of stress and anxiety, Anike has emerged stronger and more inspired. During this transformative period, she announced a name change from “Wande” to “Anike,” a Yoruba name short for Ireoluwa-Anike meaning “The goodness of God, we have something to care for, cherish, and not take for granted.”
The album includes familiar voices such as label-mates Hulvey, Lecrae, WHATUPRG, and Limoblaze, along with fresh collaborators like Terrain, Lee Vasi, and DOE. The album’s focus track “YAHWEH” ft. Porsha Love brings praise and pep over a Jersey beat featuring Porsha Love, a follow up to their successful 8M+ streamed 2021 single “Don’t Worry Bout It.” Anike also released a music video for "YAHWEH" you can watch here, setting the tone for the full album experience.
