FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Behold The Beloved has released a song selflessly offering fortifying encouragement to the faithful with “Dear Martyr,” streaming everywhere and going for radio adds now.
“This song is designed to encourage Christians being persecuted in hostile situations,” the band explains. “We are in a somewhat Christian-friendly America, where we are not experiencing persecution to the extent or in the same way as in many regions. We wanted to leave our own feelings and troubles out of the song, to encourage persecuted Christians, and to inspire listeners to pray for them.”
The result is an enlivening energy captured in song form, with Behold The Beloved’s punchy riffs and full-bore rock vocals leading the way. Together, Jason Stauffer, Sean Green, Sheldon Stauffer, Jeff Lehman and Tim Kitchen created a rallying cry that affirms the resilience of committed Christians facing unimaginable hardships. It also educates more privileged believers about what their brothers and sisters in Christ are going through.
“This one's for the Saints
Facing the fire
To every Christian praising God through razor wire
This one’s for the Saints
You know who you are
The underground
The beaten down
Don’t give up now.”
“5,621 Christians were killed as a result of their faith in Christ in 2023 alone, according to the World Watch List. That means there are many thousands terrified that they will be next. They are told that if they deny their Christianity, they can live freely,” the band says solemnly.
So many Christians wake up daily and continue to worship anyway. These are Christians who are in countries where the government actively prosecutes or executes those who follow Jesus, Christians who live in regions steeped in centuries-old religious prejudice, or even just those who live in abusive families who punish them for practicing their beliefs.
“Our hope for this song is to get people praying,” the musicians explain. “And we hope that if someone in this situation hears this song, then they are encouraged and emboldened.”
The song was produced and mixed by Jon Sambrick of Thornwall Studios with additional vocal production by Josiah Prince at The Ranch. Jeff McKinnon mastered “Dear Martyr.” The track is dropping just as Behold The Beloved wraps up studio time for more new music coming later in 2025.
You can stream “Dear Martyr” on all major platforms now. For more about this band that is increasingly becoming a leading voice in the Christian rock genre, visit beholdthebelovedmusic.com, or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
