Today, Josiah Queen shared his new single, “Cloud and Fire.” The gentle, emotional track finds him reflecting on life’s journey and the search for love and meaning. Listen HERE. Queen wrote the song with singer-songwriter John Michael Howell, who also produced, Zac Lawson and Hillsong UNITED’s Dylan Thomas.
Of the track Josiah says, "I wrote Cloud and Fire after reading about the story of Moses and the Israelites journeying through the desert, led by a pillar of cloud in the day and a pillar of fire at night. It’s a reminder of God’s steadfast guidance through every trial.”
“Cloud and Fire” is from his forthcoming album, Mt. Zion, the follow-up to The Prodigal, Queen’s independently released, chart-topping debut album, which has racked up over 140 million combined global streams to date. Set for August 22 release via Capitol Records/Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG), Mt. Zion is available for pre-order / pre-save HERE.
The 22-year-old Tampa native will celebrate the album’s release with a pair of special shows, headlining Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on October 27 and Yuengling Center in Tampa on November 1. Tickets for the Ryman Auditorium show sold out in under 48 hours; limited tickets for the Tampa show are available HERE. Queen is currently performing as special guest on the U.S. leg of Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake’s Summer Worship NightsTour. Fresh off two consecutive nights at American Airlines Center in Dallas, the arena run now heads to PHX Arena in Phoenix for a sold-out July 31 show. It will wrap up on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. See below for itinerary.
In his recent headline performance at Lifest in Wisconsin, Queen had the crowd of 30,000+ people singing alongto “Dusty Bibles,” another single from Mt. Zion. Logging over 5.2 million streams weekly, the track has charted on Spotify’s Viral 50 in 18 countries, including within the top 10 in the U.S., and within the top 25 of Spotify’s global tally. Views of “Dusty Bibles” social media posts surpassed 100 million in the first month.
“Dusty Bibles” is currently in the top three of Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart and marks Queen’s third entry on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally. “Can’t Steal My Joy” (feat. Brandon Lake), “Yesterday is Dead” and “Two Wooden Beams” – three earlier singles from Mt. Zion – also appeared on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart.
