Singer-songwriter Seth Davey, formerly of the Facedown Records rock band Attalus, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his upcoming full-length concept album, Words in the Wounds. Originally envisioned as a 5-song EP titled Hymns in Hindsight, the project has since grown into a more ambitious 10-track collection inspired by the image of Christ’s wounds as a source of hope, refuge, and divine love.
Davey has already released several singles leading up to this new season of music, including "A Glimpse of Who You Are," "To My God and Savior," "When My Mind Runs Back," and "39 Years and Counting." With much of the work being self-produced in his home studio, the Kickstarter will help cover production costs with producer Andrew McLeod of Reckless Records, as well as final recording and mastering.
The next single from Words in the Wounds, titled "The Highs and Lows," releases tomorrow.
The campaign goal is set at $3,000, after Davey already raised $2,500 through a special performance at his church. Supporters of his earlier Hymns in Hindsight campaign will also receive a free second CD upon the album’s completion.
Fans can learn more and support the project at Seth’s Kickstarter page.
If you want to get a feel for his upcoming project, Davey recently contributed his song "39 Years and Counting" to the 14th Volume of Jesusfreakhideout.com's indie mp3 compilation, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't), which can be downloaded FREE at www.JFHMusic.com.
